This standard provides general requirements for Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) for use in the handling (including growing and harvesting, preparation, processing, packaging, storage, transport, distribution and sale) of fresh fruits and vegetables cultivated for human consumption in order to ensure a safe and wholesome product by taking the environment and the health, safety and welfare of workers into account.
