RE: ASSISTANCE WITH DATA ANALYSIS ON CONSERVATION FARMING, EFFECTS AND YIELDS IN GOROMONZI DISTRICT (MASHONALAND EAST)
My name is Ruvimbo Nyamugunduru, and I am a graduate student pursuing a degree in Geographic Information Science and Earth Observation at the University of Zimbabwe. I am writing to request access to yield data that would be instrumental for my dissertation research in the field of Geographic Information Science and Environmental Observation (HGISEO). The focus of my dissertation is on Mapping the Transition from Conventional Agriculture to Conservation Agriculture in Goromonzi, Zimbabwe. As part of my research methodology, I am seeking comprehensive yield data that spans multiple seasons and covers various crops cultivated in Goromonzi, Zimbabwe.
I understand that the Ministry of Agriculture collects and maintains extensive agricultural data, including yield statistics, crop production figures, and other relevant information. Access to such data would greatly enhance the quality and rigor of my dissertation research, allowing me to analyze trends, patterns, and spatial variations in crop yields and productivity. Specifically, I am requesting access to the following types of data:
1. Historical yield data for major crops (e.g., maize, wheat, soybeans, etc.) from 2014 up to now
2. Spatially disaggregated yield data at the district or sub-district level, if available.
3. Any supplementary information or metadata related to the collection, processing, and validation of the yield data.
I assure you that any data provided will be used solely for academic research purposes and will be treated with the utmost confidentiality and respect for privacy. Furthermore, I am committed to complying with any applicable regulations or protocols regarding data access and usage stipulated by the Ministry of Agriculture.
